Los estudios muestran que las mujeres tienen un mayor riesgo de endometriosis en las siguientes ocasiones:
- Si tienen una madre, hermana o hija con endometriosis1
- Comenzaron sus períodos a una edad temprana (antes de los 11 años)2
- Tienen ciclos mensuales cortos (menos de 27 días)2
- Tienen períodos menstruales abundantes que duran más de 7 días2
- Son infértiles3
Algunos estudios sugieren que tener una masa corporal magra o poca grasa corporal puede aumentar el riesgo de endometriosis de una mujer.4
